Job Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Testing & Commissioning Engineer to join our expanding team in India. This position is perfect for candidates with a minimum of 1+ years of experience in the Testing and Commissioning of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, specifically within the Power sector.
As part of our highly skilled team, you will be responsible for executing testing and commissioning services for substations (LV,MV,HV,EHV Systems ), utilizing industry-leading testing equipment such as Omicron, Doble, and Megger.
Key Responsibilities
Perform pre-commissioning, commissioning, and acceptance testing of transmission substation equipment including Power Transformers, CTs, PTs/CVTs, Circuit Breakers (SF6, Vacuum & Oil), Isolators, Earth Switches, Surge Arresters, Capacitor Banks, Reactors, Busbars, GIS/AIS equipment, and LV/MV Switchgear Panels.
Review and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematic drawings, protection and control schematics, interlocking logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with design requirements.
Execute schematic verification, wiring checks, loop checks, and functional testing of protection, control, and monitoring systems prior to energization.
Test, configure, and commission protection relays and associated protection schemes for transformers, transmission lines, busbars, and feeders in accordance with approved settings and utility standards.
Conduct troubleshooting and fault analysis during testing and commissioning activities to identify and rectify system deficiencies.
Verify as-built drawings and prepare red-line markups to ensure accurate project documentation and final handover records.
Prepare commissioning reports, test certificates, inspection records, punch lists, and final documentation packages in accordance with project and client requirements.
Ensure all testing and commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with applicable safety standards, project specifications, and utility procedures.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, OEMs, EPC contractors, and utility representatives to plan, execute, and successfully complete commissioning and energization activities.
Support system energization, operational readiness checks, and final handover of substations to the client and utility operations teams.
Provide daily progress reports to the Project Manager.
Key Requirements
1+ years of experience in the Testing, and Commissioning of AIS/GIS Substations
Proficiency in using Normal testing equipment's and Special Equipment's of Omicron, Doble, and Megger for primary testing and protection relay testing.
Hands-on experience in the testing and commissioning of, AIS and GIS substations, and LVAC systems.
Strong understanding of Indian standards and local utility regulations for electrical infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated ability to supervise site work, manage resources, and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Previous experience in testing and commissioning in power transmission and distribution is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree/Diplomo in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
1+ years of relevant field experience in Testing & Commissioning.
