Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior testing & Commissioning Engineer with extensive expertise in Testing and Commissioning of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems to join our growing team in India. This role is ideal for professionals with 2+ years of hands-on experience in commissioning and testing within the Transmission Substation sector.

As a Senior Engineer in our team, you will take a lead role in executing complex testing and commissioning services for substations (33kV, 110kV, 220kV, 400kV), using industry-leading testing equipment such as Omicron, Doble, and Megger. Your ability to oversee and supervise testing procedures, ensure the highest standards of safety, and mentor junior engineers will be critical to the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute Testing & Commissioning activities for Transmission Substations (33kV, 110kV, 220kV, & 400kV), ensuring all tests meet client specifications and industry standards.

• Apply advanced knowledge of testing equipment such as Omicron, Doble, and Megger to carry out primary testing, protection relay testing, and system diagnostics.

• Oversee site operations, providing technical supervision and coordinating activities with the project team to ensure projects are executed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations.

• Conduct in-depth site surveys to assess electrical systems, load schedules, and design elements for both new and existing substation facilities.

• Act as a technical liaison with clients, local utilities, and stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are fully met and any challenges are resolved effectively.

• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative team environment to ensure knowledge transfer and high standards of work quality.

• Regularly update the Project Manager on project progress, identifying risks and proposing solutions to keep projects on track.

• Ensure full compliance with Indian utility standards and international best practices for the execution of all electrical infrastructure projects.

• Proactively manage materials and equipment logistics to ensure timely availability on-site, minimizing project delays.

Key Requirements:

• 2+ years of proven experience in Testing and Commissioning within Transmission Substations (33kV, 110kV, 220kV, & 400kV), with a strong focus on HV and LV systems.

• Proficient in the use of testing equipment such as Omicron, Doble, and Megger for primary and protection relay testing.

• Hands-on experience in commissioning and testing of power transformers, Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), and LVAC systems.

• In-depth understanding of Indian standards, utility regulations, and safety protocols for electrical infrastructure projects.

• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate teams, ensuring quality standards and deadlines are consistently met.

• Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to resolve technical challenges and maintain positive working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

• 2+ years of experience in a senior or lead role within Testing & Commissioning.

• Commissioning skills of Electrical HV Systems (preferable).
